This song is by Steven Curtis Chapman written during his grief journey after his daughter Maria Chapman died in 2008. The entire album “Beauty Will Rise” is a great album expressing his journey. This song, “Spring is Coming” I love. If you think about our seasons, there is rebirth in spring after winter. The grief journey is similar as Steven correlates in this song. I would also say that for spring/joy to come again, you need to go through the season of winter/grief and as the song says, let the tears of grief soak the ground, just as the rain is necessary for spring.
“And my heart’s heavy now, but I’m not letting go of this hope I have that tells me…..Spring is coming!” AMEN!
