Day 4: My favorite worship songs over the last year………I Can Only Imagine and Finally Home

The song “I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me was chosen by her Father, Jeff Herro and was played at Elizabeth and the boys’ home going as the recessional.  Bart Millard the lead singer for Mercy Me says the song “Finally Home” is sequel to ” I Can Only Imagine” regarding his father’s passing.  The video I have posted is from the Dove Awards, where he sings a medley of both songs.

I too can’t wait to hug so many……and stand before the throne!

Hope you are blessed!

Julie

  1. Julie: I enjoyed your post today. I love the song, “I Can Only Imagine,” and think of my dad when I hear it. I had not heard “Finally Home,” so really enjoyed hearing it.

Hope you are doing well. I know this has been an incredibly hard year for you and this month will probably be extremely hard as well. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers and I know God is holding you in His arms. Love, Candy

  2. Everytime I hear this song my head goes straight to the day of the funeral when everyone in the church was singing this song in unison. Just can’t wait for that day!! Thought a lot about them on July 4th this year. Those little boys LOVED fire works and lighting them!! Last year we shot fireworks off at there house and I don’t ever think I have seen two little boys have so much fun and scream so loud from excitement. All the time liz and I just taking in the moment and telling the guys thu better stop cause it was getting late and of coarse the cops were called but we some how managed to turn all the lights off in the house and keep the boys quite while the police searched for whoever was shooting off all the loud fire works lol. And cracker the dog poor thing. We couldn’t find her anywhere. We all thought she got scared from the loud booms and ran away. We searched the entire house and couldn’t find her. All be darned if she didn’t show up in that house an hour later as if nothing was wrong. Still don’t know where she was hiding out but it was a good hiding spot!! Gosh do I miss that day but so thankful that we were able to spend such a great night with them and cherish those memories so much!! My how so many things have changed in a year. Sad but also comforting to know that one day we will all meet again!! Thanks Julie for sharing your heart!! So thankful that you are so open about it and are able to deal with your feelings on a positive way!! There are so many people that can just get lost in life after tragic events like yours! Thank GOD for his grace and loving arms that are ALWAYS there even when we have melt downs lol 🙂 love you!!
